Job Description
About the role: The Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) reports to the Plasma Center Manager and supports plasma center operations. The role determines donor eligibility, manages donor adverse events, reviews laboratory test results, and notifies donors of unsuitable test results. The specialist works under the guidance of the Center Manager (or Assistant Manager) and under the management of the Center Physician for medical issues.
The specialist is familiar with plasma collection regulations and provides center‑level support for environmental, health and safety (EHS) following guidance from Bio Life Medical Affairs.
You will determine donor eligibility, manage informed consent, provide AIDS education, conduct medical history interviews, and ensure acceptance requirements are met. You will perform physical examinations, blood testing, and review serological protein electrophoresis (SPE). You will evaluate donor reactions and follow applicable SOPs for medical emergencies, including coordinating with the Center Physician and managing donor transport to emergency care. You will refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or technical issues, support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees, and manage employee incidents.
When authorized by EHS, you may act as a Pandemic Coordinator and support investigations of pandemic threats.
- High school diploma or equivalent, including graduate‑level nursing program with state requirements
- Licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities are assigned: LPN or LVN
- Current CPR and AED certification
- Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy
- Complete FDA‑approved training for Bio Life Medical Support Specialist
- Two years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting

Compensation and BenefitsLocation: USA - GA - Mc Donough
Hourly Wage Range: $24.32 - $33.44
The estimated hourly wage range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual hourly wage offered may depend on a variety of factors, including qualifications, experience, skills, education, and certifications held.
U.S. based employees may be eligible for short‑term incentives and a 401(k) plan with company match. They may also receive up to 80 hours of sick time annually, and new hires accrue up to 120 hours of paid vacation.
