About the Role
You will support plasma center operations as a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse), reporting to the Plasma Center Manager. The role involves determining donor eligibility, managing donor adverse events, reviewing laboratory test results, and ensuring compliance with plasma collection regulations.
Responsibilities- Determine donor eligibility to donate plasma.
- Manage donor adverse events, review laboratory test results, and notify donors of unsuitable test results.
- Conduct informed consent, AIDS education, confidential self‑exclusion, medical history interview, physical examination, blood testing, and review of serological protein electrophoresis (SPE).
- Monitor donor reactions and follow SOPs for medical emergencies, including having Center Physician’s standing orders and directing donor transport to emergency care facilities.
- Consult with Center Physician or Medical Affairs for findings that are unacceptable or require guidance on medical or technical issues.
- Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees.
- Manage employee incidents, determine whether further evaluation is required by occupational health/ER, and refer to EHS guidance.
- Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS to support investigations related to pandemic threats in the local community.
- High school diploma or equivalent, or graduate‑equivalent nursing program with state requirements.
- Licensed or certified LPN or LVN in the state of assignment.
- Current CPR and AED certification.
- Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
- Complete FDA‑approved training for Bio Life Medical Support Specialist.
- At least two years’ experience in a clinical or hospital setting.

Compensation: U.S. hourly wages $24.32 – $33.44 (location dependent).
