Job Description & How to Apply Below

WiReD Technology, LLC | McDonough, Georgia
Full-Time | Field-Based Position

Join a Growing Team

WiReD Technology is growing, and our project pipeline continues to expand. We are looking for a dependable and experienced Low Voltage Technician
who can help us keep projects and service work moving while maintaining the quality our customers expect.

This is not a position for someone who simply wants to pull cable and move to the next job. We are looking for someone who takes ownership, pays attention to the details, communicates well, and takes pride in leaving every installation neat, tested, labeled, documented, and complete.

The ideal candidate will have broad low-voltage experience across multiple systems. Experience with commercial fire alarm systems is a strong plus.

What You Will Do

As a Low Voltage Technician, you will install, service, troubleshoot, and maintain systems such as:

  • Structured cabling, including Cat5e, Cat6, and fiber-optic cabling
  • Video surveillance and camera systems
  • Access control systems
  • Intrusion and burglar alarm systems
  • Network infrastructure and Wi-Fi equipment
  • Intercom and communication systems
  • Audio-visual and related low-voltage systems
  • Commercial fire alarm systems, when qualified
  • Conduit, cable supports, backboards, equipment racks, and enclosures

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Reading scopes of work, plans, drawings, and installation instructions
  • Pulling, terminating, testing, labeling, and documenting cabling
  • Installing and mounting devices, panels, cameras, readers, locks, and related equipment
  • Troubleshooting existing systems and identifying the actual cause of a problem
  • Programming and configuring equipment when trained and authorized
  • Maintaining clean and organized work areas, vehicles, tools, and equipment
  • Accurately documenting labor, materials, completed work, and outstanding items
  • Communicating with customers, project managers, dispatch, and other technicians
  • Identifying scope changes or unexpected site conditions before proceeding
  • Following applicable codes, manufacturer requirements, and WiReD installation standards
  • Completing assigned work safely, professionally, and efficiently
What We Are Looking For

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has hands-on commercial low-voltage installation or service experience
  • Possesses a broad understanding of low-voltage systems
  • Pays close attention to workmanship, labeling, terminations, mounting, and final appearance
  • Can troubleshoot problems instead of simply replacing parts
  • Can work independently while also contributing to a team
  • Takes responsibility for completing assignments correctly
  • Communicates clearly when there is a problem, delay, or change in scope
  • Is comfortable working from ladders, lifts, ceilings, warehouses, offices, and active job sites
  • Can safely use hand tools, power tools, cable testers, meters, and installation equipment
  • Has a valid driver’s license and dependable transportation
  • Is willing to travel to customer locations throughout Georgia and occasionally throughout the Southeast
Preferred Experience

Experience in several of the following areas is preferred:

  • IP and analog video surveillance
  • Access control hardware and programming
  • Electric strikes, magnetic locks, request-to-exit devices, and door hardware
  • Intrusion alarm systems
  • Structured cabling and fiber installation
  • Network racks, patch panels, switches, and wireless access points
  • Reading blueprints and low-voltage drawings
  • Operating scissor lifts and boom lifts
  • Testing and documenting copper and fiber cabling
  • Fire alarm installation, service, inspection, or programming
  • NICET certification or other relevant industry certifications

Fire alarm experience is a plus, but it is not required for an otherwise strong candidate who is willing to learn.
