Operations Manager
Job Overview
Warehouse Supervisor responsible for shipping and receiving warehouse merchandise to ensure smooth warehouse operations and support the company’s business. The role includes overseeing front‑line activities, training employees, and managing daily shift operations.
Schedule:
Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
- Ships parcels through Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Accurately picks and packs items for shipping.
- Processes freight documents using WMS.
- Unloads packages, secures and stores incoming and outgoing shipments, and prepares delivery orders.
- Mains inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
- Operates lift trucks or hand trucks to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping and receiving platforms to storage or work areas.
- Performs maintenance tasks, including cleaning, sanitizing, and maintaining equipment and machines.
- Cross‑trains in additional responsibilities.
- Maysubmits account payables for freight movements for processing.
- Corresponds with shippers to rectify issues related to damages and shortages.
- Coordinates freight movement and pricing.
- Obtains shipping rate quotes and shipping services for customers.
- Arranges pickups and deliveries of small parcels.
- Routes and rates warehouse freight.
- Provides manager with input on scheduling needs, customer service issues, work quality issues, and training needs.
- Stays up to date on all regulatory and procedural changes.
- Conducts WMS‑driven daily cycle counts as necessary.
- Trains new employees in shipping and receiving methods and equipment operation.
- Acts as lead person to ensure timely and accurate shipment of product daily and accurate recording of incoming shipments.
- Assists manager to ensure smooth warehouse operation.
- Ensures that documentation is complete.
- Initiates resolution of problems as they arise.
- Oversees the cleanliness of the facility.
- Reconciles discrepancies in cycle counting by conducting root‑cause analysis.
- Leads daily shift meetings and balances workloads to meet demand.
- Trains employees on safety topics and other warehouse‑related training.
- Ensures all employees are fully trained on each forklift style and have completed necessary training.
- Assumes responsibility for shift operations in the absence of the Warehouse Supervisor.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Previous warehouse experience.
- Previous managerial or supervisory experience.
- Previous forklift experience.
Hourly range: $21.00 – $26.00, based on education and experience.
