About the Role:

Your Impact

The Warehouse Team Lead is a pivotal frontline leadership role responsible for assisting the supervisor in managing and overseeing all functions of a core department (e.g., Receiving, Picking, Packing, Shipping, Bulk, VAS). You will be a working lead, actively participating in the process path up to 50% of the shift. Your primary focus is driving safety, quality, and efficiency by controlling workflow, problem‑solving, training, and providing direct support to the team.

This role is essential for maintaining high delivery standards and ensuring the smooth operation of all warehouse activities.

Why Join Our Team? (Your Perks & Growth)
  • Competitive Pay: The listed pay rate/range is just the start with potential for OT, shift differential, and bonuses.
  • Comprehensive Benefits: Potential for medical, dental, vision, 401(k) match, and paid time off based on role type.
  • Safety First Culture: We are relentlessly focused on a safe work environment for all employees.
  • Growth Opportunities: We value data‑driven decisions and promote from within, offering clear paths for career advancement in operations, team leadership, and management.
What You’ll Do (Core Responsibilities)

This role requires a balance of leadership and hands‑on operational execution.

I. Team Leadership & Performance Management
  • Supervision & Delegation: Oversee the team (typically 6‑15 associates), coordinate workloads, and provide direct support to ensure the team delivers against production targets and KPIs. Delegate and assign tasks to associates based on shift priorities.
  • Performance: Drive individual and team performance, ensuring associates meet expected Units Per Hour (UPH) goals. Provide real‑time feedback on performance and quality, addressing issues that do not align with expectations.
  • Safety & Training: Conduct pre‑shift briefs detailing daily plans and safety topics. Ensure the team works safely, lead daily stretches, and adhere to all SOPs and safety protocols. Assist in onboarding and conduct necessary training for new and existing associates.
  • Problem Resolution: Act as the first point of escalation for operational issues, assisting in problem resolution before escalating to supervisors.
II. Operational Oversight & Execution
  • Workflow Control: Proactively control workflow and remove roadblocks for associates to maintain efficiency and productivity. Monitor dashboards and systems to track productivity and identify process gaps.
  • Inbound/Outbound Flow: Oversee inbound operations (Receiving/Bulk), including trailer placement, unloading, processing, and hitting Dock to Stock SLA. For outbound (Shipping/Bins), ensure accurate picking, proper packaging, and secure loading of outbound trailers (e.g., cube utilization, securement).
  • Inventory & Quality: Perform quality checks to verify inventory accuracy and correct placement. Monitor inventory to keep product moving and oversee department cleanliness.
  • Administration: Be responsible for answering email and verbal questions in a timely manner.
What You’ll Need (Minimum Requirements)
  • Experience: 2+ years of working experience preferred. Experience in more than one department (e.g., receiving, inventory control, pick, pack, ship, and return of product) is required.
  • Physical Capability: Floor position that involves physically moving/processing products. Must be comfortable repeatedly lifting up to 75 pounds unassisted and maneuvering 150+ pounds unassisted or via team lift. Must be able to pivot at any time to respond to changing priorities.
  • PIV/Equipment: PIV Certification required (e.g., for Bulk and Receiving roles). Must be able to operate or be willing to be trained on Powered Industrial Truck Operations (PITO).
  • Leadership

    Skills:

Leadership and motivational skills, and the ability to make decisions with little to no guidance based on policies or common sense. Must be firm and fair—maintaining clear expectations while treating all team members with respect and consistency.
  • Technical

    Skills:

Working understanding of the WMS system. Experience with creating and updating systems such as trouble tickets is a plus.
  • Education/Experience (Preferred): High School diploma or GED preferable. Previous warehouse experience desirable.
