Mercyhealth System is currently seeking a Board-Certified/Board-Eligible Ophthalmologist to join our collaborative and growing eye care team serving McHenry and Algonquin, Illinois.
This is an outstanding opportunity to build a thriving ophthalmology practice within a well-supported, multispecialty health system equipped with advanced diagnostic and surgical technology.
Opportunity Overview:Salary Range: $425,000 - $500,000
- Full-Time Position
- Flexible scheduling
- Shared office call (weekly rotation with another Ophthalmologist)
- EPIC EMR systemwide

- Hospital-based surgical access
- Advanced in-office laser and minor procedure capabilities

Comprehensive ophthalmology practice including:
- Cataract surgery
- Goniotomy procedures
- Premium lens implants
- Laser procedures
- Minor in-office surgical procedures
Procedures & Capabilities:
- Laser
- YAG Capsulotomy
- Laser Peripheral Iridotomy (LPI)
- Selective Laser Trabeculoplasty (SLT)
- Chalazion removal
- Lid lesion excision
- Steroid injections
- Foreign body removal

Required Qualifications:- MD or DO degree
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Ophthalmology
- Completion of accredited Ophthalmology residency
- Eligible for Illinois medical licensure
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to high-quality, patient-centered care
- Salary Range: $425,000 - $500,000
