MCHENRY COMMUNITY CONSOLIDATED SCHOOL DISTRICT 15 Vacancy Notice Adaptive Physical Education Teacher

School: District Wide

Reports To: Executive Director of Student Services

Certification: Current and Valid Illinois Professional Educator License

Terms of Employment: 180 Day - Full Time

Start Date: August 17, 2026

Minimum Qualifications / Required Skills
  • Current and Valid Illinois Physical Education Endorsement and Adaptive PE Approval.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely.
  • Able to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies.
Responsibilities / Duties
  • Plans and implements instructional programs in accordance with the District's philosophy and curricular objectives.
  • Delivers instruction to engage all students and adjusts lessons as indicated by student progress to improve their success in academic and interpersonal skills.
  • Designs classroom work to provide students with instructional materials that address individualized learning plans within established lesson plans that align with State and District standards.
  • Creates and administers assessments aligned with instructional goals and uses the data from assessments to evaluate student competency, develop individual learning plans and plan instructional groups.
  • Maintains accurate and timely records for monitoring student progress.
  • Manages student behavior, classroom procedures, and physical space to provide a safe and optimal learning environment for students and staff.
  • Assesses student progress toward targets and standards to provide feedback to students, parents, and administration throughout the learning process.
  • Uses technology to promote learning, creativity, and collaboration while establishing clear objectives for all lessons, curricular units, projects, and communicating these objectives to all students. Collaborates and facilitates ongoing staff development.
  • Communicates and collaborates with instructional staff, school personnel, parents, and community resources to improve overall quality of student outcomes.
  • Understands various formal and informal assessment strategies and uses them to support continuous development of students.
  • Demonstrates exemplary classroom practice and possesses a deep understanding of technology integration and quality learning principles.
  • Performs other appropriate duties as assigned by the building Principal.
