About the Opportunity
We are looking for a technically sharp Senior Tax Accountant with a dedicated focus on Estate and Trust services to join our growing team. In this role, you will do more than just process returns; you will be a vital consultant helping high-net-worth individuals and closely held businesses protect and transition their legacies.
As a Senior Specialist, you will take ownership of complex projects from inception to completion, managing your own schedule while providing essential coaching to junior team members. The Impact You Will Make
- Specialized Compliance:
Lead the preparation of complex Form 1041 (Fiduciary), Form 709 (Gift), and Form 706 (Estate) tax returns, as well as final returns for deceased taxpayers. - Structural Analysis:
Review trust agreements and wills to interpret estate structures and determine the most effective filing strategies. - Strategic Advisory:
Partner with managers and partners to consult on tax and financial planning for family-owned businesses and individuals. - Technical Research:
Navigate complex estate and trust regulations, conducting deep-dive research to ensure compliance and identify planning opportunities. - Project Management:
Oversee monthly and quarterly accounting projects, ensuring efficiency and profitability while maintaining our high-quality standards. - Mentorship & Culture:
Set the bar for high energy and enthusiasm within the team, providing guidance and coaching to emerging talent. - Business Development:
Actively participate in networking and marketing initiatives to help expand the firm's reputation and client base.
What You Bring to the Team
- Experience:
At least 3+ years of current experience in a public accounting firm with a focus on estates and trusts. - Education:
BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. - Licensure: CPA certification is preferred, or currently eligible and motivated to sit for the CPA exam.
- Technical
Skills:
Proficiency in modern tax software, MS Office, and Quick Books. - Analytical Mindset:
Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to interpret complex financial information and legal documents. - Communication:
Strong verbal and written skills, with the ability to build immediate rapport with clients and stakeholders.
