Occupational Therapist – UHC Staffing Occupational Therapist

Location: McHenry, IL

Contract Type: Perm

Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (Day shift), No weekend rotation

Hours per Week: 40

• Assess patients' functional abilities and develop meaningful, individualized treatment plans
• Implement therapeutic activities and adaptive strategies that improve daily living skills
• Collaborate with nurses, therapists, and family members to ensure coordinated care
• Educate patients and caregivers on techniques, equipment, and home programs to maximize independence
• Document progress clearly and timely to track outcomes and drive quality care
• Recommend and fit adaptive equipment and environmental modifications to promote safety
• Participate in team meetings and contribute to a positive, patient-centered culture

• Current, active Occupational Therapy license in Illinois (required)
• OTR or equivalent certification preferred
• BLS/CPR certification or willingness to obtain upon hire
• Strong clinical assessment and treatment planning skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Prior experience in outpatient or rehab settings is a plus but enthusiasm and a learning mindset are welcomed

• Master's or Doctorate in Occupational Therapy (MS/OTD) or entry-level Master’s required for licensure

• Skilled in functional assessments and evidence-based OT interventions
• Familiarity with adaptive equipment, splinting basics, and mobility aids
• Comfortable with documentation in electronic health record systems
• Strong patient education and family coaching skills
• Good time management and the ability to prioritize caseloads effectively
