Occupational Therapist – UHC Staffing Occupational Therapist

Location: McHenry, IL

Contract Type: Perm

Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (day), 35 hours/week, No weekend rotation

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $38 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy evaluations to identify patient needs and goals
  • Develop individualized, evidence-based treatment plans focused on functional outcomes
  • Provide skilled therapeutic interventions to improve independence with activities of daily living
  • Monitor and document patient progress in the medical record with clear, timely notes
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to coordinate care and support transitions
  • Educate patients and families on strategies, adaptive equipment and home programs
  • Participate in discharge planning and community referral to sustain gains made in therapy
  • Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and maintain compliance with facility standards
Qualifications
  • Current Illinois Occupational Therapist license (required)
  • NBCOT certification preferred or active credentialing in progress
  • Experience in outpatient, skilled nursing, or rehabilitation settings preferred
  • Strong clinical reasoning with ability to create functional, patient-centered plans
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work within a multidisciplinary team
  • Clear background check and ability to meet facility onboarding requirements
Education
  • Graduate degree in Occupational Therapy (Master's or Doctorate) or equivalent entry-level degree
Knowledge & Skills
  • Skilled in ADL retraining, adaptive equipment recommendations and therapeutic activities
  • Proficient with assessment tools and writing measurable treatment goals
  • Comfortable documenting in electronic health records and maintaining compliant charting
  • Knowledge of safe patient handling, transfers and fall prevention strategies
  • Ability to educate patients and caregivers in a clear, encouraging manner
  • Time management and caseload prioritization to deliver high-quality care
