The Association for Individual Development (AID) is a non‑profit organization whose mission is to empower people with physical, developmental, intellectual, mental health challenges, those who have suffered a trauma, and those at risk to enjoy lives of dignity and purpose. We are looking for a Therapist Qualified Mental Health Professional who exemplifies that mission.
ScheduleMonday - Friday 9am-5:30pm and one later evening
Responsibilities- Provision of counseling, skills training, and case management services to a caseload of clients diagnosed with persistent mental illness.
- Services provided in family and individual treatment settings with both adults and children/adolescents, onsite, in community, or client home.
- Work with a team of service providers within the agency and throughout the social service community to ensure client needs are met.
- Attend scheduled work hours including evening hours.
- Provide effective individual and group counseling.
- Complete clinical assessments that meet the requirements of program funders and applicable administrative rules.
- Provide case management services as medically necessary.
- Complete required documentation (IM+CANS, encounters, consents) on a timely basis.
- Meet minimum service provision/productivity requirements as assigned by Director.
- Acquire and maintain required certifications and trainings.
- Maintain client files according to agency policy.
- Maintain professional judgment and performance regardless of personal issues.
- Abide by AID’s Code of Ethics, policies and procedure.
- Schedule and conduct treatment planning meetings as necessary.
- Obtain input from consumers and other stakeholders on how to improve service provision.
- Provide outcome evaluation data to supervisor.
- Maintain a positive professional working relationship with agencies, other stakeholders, and coworkers.
- Assist clients in obtaining and maintaining public entitlements as necessary.
- Participate in agency committees as assigned.
- Participate in clinical supervision at least one time per month.
- Provide outreach services to clients who are unable or unwilling to engage in office‑based services.
- Education:
Master’s degree in a human services field. - License/
Certifications:
Preferred (LPC or LSW). - Experience:
At least 1 year of experience in behavioral health preferred. - Physical:
Ability to navigate stairs on a regular basis. - Equipment:
Computer with working knowledge of Microsoft Windows applications, copy machine, telephone with voice mail system. - Flexibility to work evening hours.
- Use of personal automobile and maintain automobile liability insurance as defined by AID’s personnel policies.
- Maintain a valid Illinois driver’s license and meet driving record standards as defined by AID’s insurance carrier.
- $1,000 sign‑on bonus for full‑time employees.
- Up to 21 days of paid time off prorated based on hours worked plus 10 paid holidays.
