- Determination of appropriate radiological technique and position for patient using immobilization and support devices. Operates radiology equipment appropriately.
- 1)
Positions patient, adjusts equipment, secures and immobilizes support devices as needed to tactfully perform procedures. - 2)
Determines appropriate radiographic technique based on anatomy and patients condition to obtain quality films for the radiologists. - 3)
Secures history from patient regarding reason for prescribed test. - Adherence to all accepted safety standards and practices to ensure patient safety and quality patient care.
- 1)
Uses universal precautions in daily performance of procedures. - 2)
Maintains compliance with established safety standards to protect patients and staff at all time (i.e., appropriate patient shielding, etc.) - 4)
Maintains supplies and cleanliness for assigned room on a daily basis. - 5)
Administers CPR as necessary. - 6)
Assures accuracy of examination performed and requisition. - 7)
Familiar with MSDS information pertaining to chemicals used in the department. - 8)
Performs clerical duties such as maintaining adequate patient records, daily statistics, answering telephones, scheduling examinations and giving instructions to patients for examination to provide smooth and continuous department services. - 9)
Communicates with patient appropriately and provides excellent care. - 10)
Performs other duties as assigned. - Coordination of quality control tasks.

Inventories supplies and maintains adequate stock. - 2)
Labels radiology images according to department standards and criteria. - 3)
Prepares contrast media as necessary following department standards and manufacturers recommendations. - 4)
Performs daily sensitometry of processors; assists in performance of annual inspections. - 5)
Checks film quality and ensures proper and correct labeling is provided. - 6)
Performs quality control activities, responds to inquires, coordinates patient flow and communicates with provider to ensure exams are completed in a timely fashion. - 8)
Coordinates the flow of patients into and out of the department in accordance with established departmental/center procedures. - 9)
Performs orders management tracking functions.
