About this position

We are a well‑established, highly respected company in the Aviation Ground Equipment industry, specializing in Airplane Wing Deicers and Toilet Service Trucks, and other aircraft ground support equipment.

Job Overview

As a Field Service Technician you will perform repairs, installations, troubleshooting, diagnostic work, and maintenance on various aircraft ground support equipment such as wing deicing trucks, lavatory service trucks, towbarless pushback tractors, etc. Work takes place in our shop in McHenry, IL, and at customer locations across North America, with occasional travel to Europe. You will also handle customer support via phone, email, and CRM tickets when not in the field.

Responsibilities
  • Perform on‑site installation, maintenance, and repair of technical systems and equipment.
  • Ensure all work adheres to safety requirements and quality standards.
  • Travel to different field locations for installation, maintenance, and repair.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues, including assisting customers through CRM ticket system and phone calls.
  • Collaborate with the technical support team to resolve complex problems.
  • Prepare detailed reports on service visits.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications or vocational training a plus.
  • Valid driver's license and valid passport or ability to obtain one.
  • 3–5 years of experience in a technician role, field experience, and/or airport equipment experience.
  • Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing technical equipment.
  • Working knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Analytical mindset and strong problem‑solving abilities.
  • Ability to work in field conditions (outdoors, loud environments, extreme weather).
