School-Based Social Worker (JO-) – McHenry, IL. Exciting Opportunity with Pedia Staff:
School Social Worker in the McHenry, IL area. New grads encouraged to apply! We're currently seeking a dedicated Licensed School Social Worker ($50-55/hour) to support K-5 students in the McHenry, IL area.

Qualifications- Master’s Degree in Social Work or Professional Educator’s license with the school social work endorsement
As a School Social Worker, you’ll provide critical support to students. You’ll collaborate with another social worker to address students’ social‑emotional needs, develop intervention strategies, and support their academic success. This role offers the opportunity to work with young learners in a supportive school environment while making a lasting impact on their development.
Job Details- Start date:
August 14th; work full time through May 28, 2026 - Daily hours: 8:45 to 4:05 (staff report at 8:05 on Wednesdays for PD – not required); 7h20 per day with 30 minutes unpaid lunch
- Caseload: all elementary grades K-5; support 3 self-contained SES classrooms of students with emotional and behavioral challenges; 16 students total; another full-time social worker also supporting this program
- Provide individual and group social work services to students
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to develop intervention plans
- Conduct assessments and maintain appropriate documentation
- Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions
