The McKeesport Area School District is seeking dependable, flexible, and student-centered Day-to-Day Substitute Teachers to support our schools on an as‑needed basis. Substitute teachers are contacted by the District's main office to provide instructional coverage when classroom teachers are absent.

This is an excellent opportunity for certified educators seeking a flexible work schedule while making a positive impact on students across grades PreK–12.

Day-to-Day Substitute Teachers are responsible for maintaining a productive learning environment by implementing lesson plans, supervising students, and ensuring continuity of instruction during the absence of the regular classroom teacher.

• Provide instructional coverage in assigned classrooms (PreK–12).
• Follow lesson plans and instructional materials provided by the classroom teacher.
• Maintain a safe, respectful, and orderly classroom environment.
• Supervise students throughout the school day.
• Follow district policies, procedures, and building expectations.
• Communicate with school staff regarding the day's activities and student needs.
• Complete any required reports or documentation before leaving the assignment.

• Valid Pennsylvania Teaching Certificate (PreK–12 certification accepted in any instructional area).
• Ability to work effectively with students and staff.
• Strong classroom management and communication skills.
• Demonstrated professionalism, reliability, and flexibility.
• Required Pennsylvania clearances and employment documentation.

• $150 per day

• On-call, as‑needed basis.
• Assignments available throughout the school year at various district schools.
• Substitute teachers are contacted by the District's main office when coverage is needed.

• Citizenship, residency or work visa required.
