Position Overview:

We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teachers to join our team, providing instructional and behavioral support to K-12 students with varying exceptionalities, including Autistic Support, Learning Support, and Emotional Support. The successful candidate will be committed to fostering an inclusive, supportive, and engaging learning environment tailored to meet the unique needs of each student.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Instructional Planning and Delivery:
    Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for students in alignment with state standards and individual needs. Adapt and differentiate instruction to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities. Utilize evidence-based strategies and tools to enhance student engagement and achievement.
  • Student Support:
    Provide academic, social, and emotional support to students, fostering self-regulation, independence, and confidence. Implement behavior intervention plans (BIPs) and positive behavioral supports as needed. Collaborate with related service providers (e.g., speech therapists, occupational therapists, school counselors) to support students’ needs.
  • Assessment and Progress Monitoring:
    Conduct ongoing assessments to monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student performance, behavior, and IEP goal attainment. Prepare for and participate in IEP meetings, presenting data and recommendations effectively.
  • Collaboration and Communication:
    Work collaboratively with general education teachers, support staff, and administrators to ensure inclusive practices. Build strong relationships with students, families, and caregivers, maintaining open lines of communication.
  • Compliance and Professional Development:
    Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and district special education policies and regulations (e.g., IDEA). Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices and emerging research in special education.
  • Skills and Attributes:
    Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to build rapport with diverse students, families, and colleagues. Commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive classroom culture.

Work Environment:
