Press Operator

Vista Metals, Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Press Operator to join our team in Elizabeth Township, PA
. In this role, you will play a critical part in our manufacturing process, preparing and processing graded powders using an isostatic press to manufacture high-quality tungsten carbide pieces. This position requires excellent hand-eye coordination, strong safety compliance, and the physical stamina to handle heavy materials in a specialized production environment.

• Press Preparation:
  Set up and prepare molds, pins, bags, spacers, and stompers for tungsten carbide powder formatting.
• Material Handling:
  Retrieve specific graded powders from the storage area based on pack slip requirements and accurately weigh/add the correct amounts into the processing bag.
• Staging:
  Tie off bags securely and stage loads to prepare them for the pressing cycle.
• Equipment Operation:
  Position prepared loads into the isostatic press; safely operate and monitor the machinery throughout the cycle.
• Post-Press Processing:
  Remove finished loads from the press, extract pressed tungsten carbide parts from the mold/bag, and remove pins as required.
• Quality & Tracking:
  Scribe identification numbers directly onto finished parts, mark brass tags for tracking, and deliver completed parts to the saw room.
  
  Documentation:
  Accurately record all production metrics and required data on pack slips and can cards.
• Maintenance:
  Perform routine preventative maintenance on machinery and keep the press area organized, clean, and safe.

(As Needed) Assist with departmental inventory counts and functions

• Education:
  
  High school diploma or equivalent.
  
  Certifications:
  
  Vista Safety Training (provided upon hire).
• Physical Demands:
  Ability to perform heavy lifting (maximum weight of approximately 150 lbs).
• Medical/Safety Requirements:
  Must possess a written recommendation from a PLHCP (Physician or other Licensed Health Care Provider) confirming the ability to wear a respirator. Must successfully pass Respirator Fit Testing. Strict Requirement: A respirator must be worn at all times while working inside the press department.

  Basic keyboard/computer skills for tracking data.
