Full-Time Weekend Staff Nurse (3M Medical/Surgical Unit)

UPMC McKeesport is seeking a Full-Time Staff Nurse to support our 3M Medical/Surgical Unit through our Weekend Program. This is a unique opportunity to enjoy full-time benefits while working weekend hours only.

Position Highlights

+

Schedule:

24 hours per week

+ Between 7:00 PM Friday and 7:00 AM Monday

+ Required to work 48 out of 52 weekends annually

+ Full-Time Benefits while working weekends only

+ Sign-On Bonus:
Candidates may be eligible for a sign-on bonus (2-year work commitment required)

Role Overview

The Professional Staff Nurse (RN) is a key member of the care delivery team, responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-centered care. This role requires independent clinical judgment, strong communication and collaboration skills, and a commitment to compassionate, relationship-based care. You will partner with physicians, interdisciplinary team members, patients, and families to achieve optimal outcomes across the continuum of care.

Professional Expectations

+ Minimum 6 months experience.

+ BSN preferred.

+ Ability to establish and maintain positive, caring relationships with executives, managers, physicians, non-physician providers, ancillary and support staff, other departments, and patients/families.

+ Ability to work productively and effectively within a complex environment, handle multiple/changing priorities and specialized equipment.

+ Good clinical judgment with critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving abilities required as related to various aspects of patient care.

+ Critical thinking skills necessary to exercise and to lead others in the application of the nursing process. Mobility and visual manual dexterity.

+ Physical stamina for frequent walking, standing, lifting, and positioning of patients.

** Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:*
* + NIH Certification will be required within 6 months of hire for the following units: ED, CVU, ICU and 5M.

+ CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire

+ ACLS required within 6 months

+ NIH required within 6 months

+ Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)

+ Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)

+ NIH Stroke Scale (NIH)

+ Registered Nurse (RN)

+ Act 34

+ OAPSA
