Sales Representative, Industrial Sales
Position Overview
The position we are hiring is an Inside/Outside Sales Representative for managing our current accounts and acquiring new ones. We are a major supplier of steel plate products. We manufacture both prime and non-prime steel components including counterweights, fabricated weldments, and ballast weights. We are striving to retain and grow our business and are looking for the right person to help us do that.
The salesman needs to be positive, organized, well spoken & capable of ensuring quality customer service. The candidate needs general familiarity with an industrial environment. Knowledge of the steel industry is beneficial. You'll be speaking with knowledgeable people in this industry.
This position will be in an office in a manufacturing plant environment. This is not a remote position. The role will work closely with the general manager and other inside sales representatives.
This is a salary position with bonus opportunities.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities- Develops and maintains relationships with potential and existing clients.
- Identifies and locates new clients through networking and cold calls.
- Develops and implements strategies for sales in an assigned region or industry.
- Applies knowledge of the field and product features to match products to the needs of clients.
- Answers inquiries from clients concerning products, their uses, and the industry at large.
- Provides information, quotes, credit terms, and other bid specifications to clients.
- Negotiates prices, terms of sales; prepares contracts and submits orders.
- Collaborates with purchasing manager, plant personnel, and other staff to confirm that orders are processed with accuracy and efficiency and that products are distributed properly.
- Periodically prepares and reports results, status of accounts, and leads to manager.
- Time will be spent in the manufacturing plant/environment.
- Travel will be required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent sales and negotiation skills.
- Organized with attention to detail.
- Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with clients.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel.
- Strong math skills.
- Mechanical inclination is a plus.
- College degree preferred.
