The Huffines Accounting Office Manager is responsible for overseeing daily accounting operations at the dealership. Duties include financial reporting and analysis, accounts payable and receivable, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. The role requires strong leadership, communication skills, meticulous attention to detail, and a deep understanding of financial accounting principles.
Job Responsibilities- Work with the finance/accounting managers to analyze financial records and ensure dealership goals are met.
- Oversee and assist with general accounting procedures such as payables, receivables, and billing.
- Perform daily payoff and floor unit reconciliations.
- Assist in completing month‑end processes on time and accurately.
- Prepare and pay Vehicle Inventory Tax (VIT).
- Calculate and prepare salespeople’s commission sheets for payroll.
- Report sales and incentives to the manufacturer.
- Process cancellations and post aftermarket billing statements.
- Reconcile floor plan and reserve statements.
- Post manufacturer invoices and reconcile statements.
- Post daily bank and credit card transactions and reconcile statements.
- Review all schedules for accuracy and investigate and resolve issues.
- Maintain compliance with accounting records.
- Keep the office organized at all times.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- 5+ years of auto dealership office experience.
- Proven experience in general dealership office tasks such as titles, taxes, payroll, accounts payable, and receivable.
- Knowledge of automotive office work and responsibilities.
- Experience with Reynolds & Reynolds preferred.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Strong teamwork, positive management, training, and support abilities.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Prior supervisory experience in an automotive environment preferred but not required.
- Lead by example, be approachable, and coachable.
