Payroll & Accounting Specialist Key Responsibilities

• Process payroll accurately and on schedule for employees across multiple locations
• Review time records, earnings, deductions, reimbursements, and payroll adjustments
• Maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with applicable regulations
• Administer garnishments, benefit deductions, and other payroll-related transactions
• Reconcile payroll reports and support audit requests
• Coordinate employee payroll changes with internal stakeholders
• Prepare and file indirect tax returns and ensure timely compliance with filing requirements
• Reconcile tax-related accounts and investigate discrepancies
• Respond to tax notices and maintain supporting documentation
• Perform general ledger reconciliations and account analysis
• Prepare journal entries and supporting schedules
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities
• Research and resolve accounting variances
• Support internal and external audits
• Maintain accurate financial records and adhere to internal controls

• 3+ years of payroll, accounting, or related financial experience
• Experience with multi-state payroll processing and tax filings preferred
• Knowledge of payroll regulations, tax compliance, and accounting practices
• Experience with payroll and accounting software systems
• Strong Excel and financial reporting skills
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
• High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and confidentiality

• Professional payroll certification or related credentials
• Experience in multi-entity or multi-location environments
• Familiarity with tax automation or compliance software
