I am representing an established independent CPA firm in McKinney TX that is looking for a Tax Manager who wants to build toward Partner and have an open conversation about progression from the beginning.

You will understand what the firm needs to see from you, where your experience can add value, and how your responsibilities could broaden over time.

This is a wider role than managing another busy season.

You will remain close to clients, work directly with the leadership team, and gain a clearer understanding of how the practice operates beyond your own portfolio. Your judgement will matter, and your contribution will be visible.

Alongside reviewing complex individual and business tax work, you will lead client relationships, support planning and advisory projects, develop junior accountants, and contribute to conversations around client service and the continued growth of the firm.

The firm is looking for someone with at least five years of public accounting tax experience, strong technical knowledge, and the confidence to manage client relationships independently.

A CPA or EA credential is required.

This could suit someone who enjoys developing people, wants greater influence, and is ready to build the commercial and leadership experience needed for broader responsibility.
