SUMMARY

Under general direction of the Facilities Maintenance Superintendent, the purpose of this position is to develop and coordinate Facility Maintenance projects, and schedule operational maintenance and repair activities related to city‑maintained facilities. This position will be required to plan, coordinate and execute projects related to facilities improvements, equipment, and appliance and lighting replacements. Employees in this classification must have a thorough knowledge of the principles and practices of project planning/scheduling;

facility operations, maintenance, and repair activities. In addition, the employee must have general working knowledge related to computerized maintenance management systems.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assists in and coordinates the identification, planning, development, scheduling, and implementation of contracts for on‑going and various facilities maintenance programs, projects, and systems replacement/upgrades.
  • Coordinates the preparation of Request for Proposals for projects; assists with the bid proposal evaluation process and recommendation of qualified general contractors and other professional services, as required.
  • Manages and tracks project activities, costs, and status of tasks and sub‑tasks to ensure satisfactory realization of project goals, objectives, and requirements as scheduled and maintained within assigned budget.
  • Inspects the work performed by contractors for accuracy and compliance with applicable standards and specifications; ensures issues are addressed appropriately and resolved within expected time period; verifies final invoices for accuracy.
  • Creates standard project document templates.
  • Provides recommendations for purchase of materials, products and services.
  • Assists in planning, preparation, and monitoring of the Division's annual operating budget and multi‑year strategic planning that includes the development and implementation of short and long term goals and objectives.
  • Assist in developing realistic and attainable goals for the Division through a team process and ensure success through assigned accountability.
  • Provides timely and accurate written and oral status reports to departments, as required.
  • Compile and maintain all physical and computerized reports, records, drawings, specifications, as‑builts, and other required documents pertaining to facility projects.
