Essential

Functions/Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

Essential duties and responsibilities include providing administrative support to Financial Service divisions, processing invoices for accounts payable, maintaining the vendor database, assisting in 1099 reporting, overseeing the Vendor EFT enrollment program, assisting departments with general ledger inquiries, auditing procurement card transactions, providing expenditure documents for fixed asset recording, writing queries related to expenditures and vendors for financial analysis, researching general ledger accounts and preparing monthly correcting journal entries, relieving management staff of routine administrative tasks, establishing and maintaining credibility by providing timely and accurate analysis and reports, assisting in the preparation and compilation of audit schedules and year end activities, participating in special projects at the request of management, complying with City policies and procedures, and performing other duties as assigned or directed.

Required Qualifications

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED supplemented by college level course work in accounting/business and three (3) years of previous experience and/or training that include accounting/bookkeeping. Governmental experience preferred in finance/accounting. Any work related experience resulting in acceptable proficiency levels in the above Minimum Qualifications may be an acceptable substitute for the above specified education and experience requirements.

Conditions of employment include passing a drug screen and background check, and having a Class C Texas Driver's License.

Physical Demands/Supplemental

Tasks involve the ability to exert light physical effort in sedentary to light work, but which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of light weight (5-10 pounds). Tasks may involve extended periods of time at a keyboard or work station. Some tasks require visual and sound perception and discrimination and oral communications ability. There is limited exposure to environmental conditions.
