Summary
The Finance Department’s intern program, approved for 500 hours, will support Procurement Services through a variety of administrative and operational tasks. Responsibilities include assisting with sourcing, vendor research, surplus property, auctions, and procurement projects; routing and tracking procurement documents; managing incoming communications and mail; maintaining departmental databases, spreadsheets, and records; updating information systems and generating reports; supporting procurement staff with clerical tasks;
maintaining office supplies and equipment; and performing additional duties and special projects as assigned.

SummaryOf Position
Under general supervision of the Division Manager, or designee, this position provides the opportunity to perform a full range of duties related to the functions of the Department. You will have the opportunity to work on real projects that align with your interests and career aspirations. Your role in the group is an important one, your work is taken seriously, and you are counted on as a contributing member of a team.
This internship will culminate in the implementation, as practical, and presentation of a final project that will contribute to both the City of McKinney and your academic and professional development.
