General Summary
As the Summer Intern for Product Management and Marketing, you will be focused on preparing product information for online use via Stat Lab’s eCommerce site as well as for Stat Lab’s distribution websites. Specifically, you will be entering and validating product description details for future use in ERP and eCommerce software systems. This role requires gathering detailed product attributes (such as product weight and packaging dimensions, and many others) as well as entering detailed information into software fields.
This internship role is ideal for a business student that is seeking to learn more about channel enablement and digital shelf enablement. At the end of your internship, you will present a summary of your project to key leaders of Stat Lab.
- Gather key product information for top 3,000 products as identified by Stat Lab management.
- Physically go to warehouse in McKinney, TX, work with warehouse crew as needed, measure and weigh key packaging dimensions, as well as other product attributes.
- Neatly and efficiently organize product content into excel files.
- Identify overlapping and redundant product attributes that can be used across many product variants.
- Collaborate with Distribution Channel Specialist to drive project forward.
- Participate in weekly project meeting updates, including communicating progress made and plans for the following week.
- Travel up to 30% is required.
- Other responsibilities as assigned.
- Currently earning bachelor’s degree in business, or MBA student in between year 1 and year 2.
- Proficient using Microsoft Office, including Excel and PowerPoint.
- Detail-oriented individual that is driven to complete a project or reach goals.
- 1-2 years exposure to product management or marketing preferred.
- Science background or having worked in a scientific lab preferred.
- Must be able to complete projects with tight deadlines and be self-motivated.
- Possesses a detail-oriented, get-it-done mindset and be highly collaborative.
- Fluently speak, read, and write English.
- Ability to meet physical demands of the job which include but are not limited to: sitting/stooping/; and occasionally lifting and carrying items which may weigh up to 25 pounds.
- Position typically spends approximately 70% of time sitting at a desk and 30% standing or walking.
- Vision and hearing must be within or correctable to within normal range.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually low. Will be required to work, walk, and interact in other environments such as a warehouse or production facility where the noise level is high.
Position is not expected to exceed 10 weeks.
Hourly pay range is $22-$25.
