Safety Coordinator Requirements & Qualifications

Direct experience in commercial electrical construction safety, specifically with contractor firms (not corporate settings)
Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and electrical safety standards
OSHA 30 certification required
Data center and/or healthcare construction experience strongly preferred
CHST, STS, or CSP certifications preferred
Excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills

Safety Coordinator Preferred Background & Skills

Experience with electrical construction projects
Ability to coordinate with multiple contractors and trades
Background in supporting project-site safety for complex, high-expectation environments

Safety Coordinator Day-to-Day Responsibilities

Conduct daily jobsite safety inspections and audits for electrical construction activities
Ensure all activities comply with OSHA, NFPA, client-specific, and company standards
Lead safety orientations, toolbox talks, and ongoing field safety training sessions
Investigate incidents, near misses, and safety concerns; document findings and implement corrective actions
Monitor compliance with PPE usage, fall protection, LOTO procedures, and confined space protocols
Coordinate with general contractors, owners, and other trades to maintain safe work environments
Assist project teams with Job Hazard Analyses, pre-task planning, and risk mitigation
Maintain accurate safety documentation, compliance records, permits, and reports
Support emergency response planning and participate in regular safety meetings
Travel between multiple local project sites as needed
