Webber - Drill Shaft Foreman - Heavy Civil

The Foreman I provides management for a construction crew and their materials and equipment, ensuring that specifications are followed and work proceeds on schedule.

• Create and complete a job safety analysis each morning to identify safety concerns and ensure a safe working environment.
• Oversee crew activities efficiently.
• Supervise, manage, and direct training, development, appraisal, and work assignments for crew members.
• Have a strong understanding of project plans for specific duties.
• Interpret blueprints and specifications.
• Manage tools, materials and supplies.
• Monitor equipment utilization.
• Respond immediately to site production issues.
• Report crew hours worked and code time accurately on daily timesheets.
• Improve operations of the company where possible.

• Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures and report any unsafe activities to the Safety Representative or supervisor.
• Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
• Provide leadership to others through example and knowledge sharing.

• 5+ years experience building highways/roads required.
• Knowledge of one or two phases of construction (Structures, Dirt, Pipe, Pavement, etc.).
• Less than high school diploma.

• Driver’s License.
• OSHA 10/30 certification.
• First Aid and CPR.

• Read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and recognize similarities and differences between words and series of numbers.
• Print and speak simple sentences.

• Add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
• Compute rate, ratio, percent and interpret bar graphs.

• Apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uncomplicated written or oral instructions.
• Deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

• Handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

• Outdoors in an enclosed vehicle protected from extreme weather conditions.
• Outdoors exposed to changing weather conditions (rain, sun, snow, wind, etc.).

• Moderate physical activity performing somewhat strenuous daily activities primarily of a technical nature.

• Manual dexterity sufficient to reach and handle items and work with the fingers.
• Ability to physically maneuver around minor obstacles at construction projects.
