Job SummaryUnder the direction of the director of simulation, the individual will support the general operations of the Simulation Lab; prepare and/or operate simulation laboratory and associated equipment, medical simulators, computers, audio‑visual equipment; prepare the appropriate amount of materials and equipment necessary to effectively teach and evaluate each student during the simulated experience (SE); provide technical and general support during SEs, and clean up manikin(s), equipment and supplies after SEs.
Responsibilities- Assist in the instruction of healthcare‑related education, providing appropriate simulated experiences that present the student learning objectives outlined for the simulation, and provide debriefing opportunities and constructive feedback to students and/or faculty when requested.
- Prepare manikin(s) and/or standardized patients, equipment and supplies for upcoming simulation scenarios, ensuring each lab has the proper equipment and supplies for each student as requested.
- Assist with monitoring day‑to‑day activities in the Simulation Center and maintain a safe environment during the simulated experiences.
- Ensure evaluation of simulated experience (SE) forms are completed either online or on paper by students and/or attending faculty members after completion of SE.
- Ensure simulation labs, offices and files are adequately secured daily, and all personnel information is maintained with strictest confidentiality.
- Assist with the use and maintenance of the Syn Daver manikins and equipment.
- Assist with maintaining an oxygen reserve for the building system, as well as individual oxygen bottles. This includes all compressed gases used in the health science programs.
- Assist with research, data collection, purchase recommendations and implementation of new simulation systems, including virtual reality systems.
- Assist with providing tours of the health science programs to various groups as scheduled.
- Assist with maintenance of equipment, troubleshooting operations, and generating reports on missing or broken equipment and supplies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Heavy Work – Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly; must move objects, talk, hear, see, grasp, stand, walk, perform repetitive motions, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, climb, and balance. Occasional exposure to unpleasant environmental conditions and/or hazards, outside work, and physical effort are required.
RequirementsMinimum of two (2) years of related health care work experience in the chosen clinical field of practice, in simulation technology/education, general education or information technology required.
Preferred Qualifications- Associate degree in related field from an accredited institution.
- Teaching experience at community college level desired, preferably in health care education.
Current Texas license and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and/or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) provider certification preferred.

Maximum hours: 19.5 hours per week (subject to variation for employees with more than one part‑time position at Collin College).
Equivalency LanguageTwo (2) additional years of health care work experience may be substituted for the education requirement.
