School Director

Location: Primrose School of North Mc Kinney

Job Type: Full-Time and on-site

What the Job Actually Looks Like

As our Director, you’ll be the person keeping our school running smoothly every day. That means:

  • Health, Safety, and Compliance: Proven experience and an excellent track record at managing a licensed childcare center in full alignment with Texas Minimum Standards for Child-Care Centers and state health and safety regulations. Primrose experience is a major plus!
  • Being there for our team: Hiring great people, helping them grow, and making sure our teachers feel backed up, appreciated, and heard. Our director will lead monthly staff meetings where our team gets real updates on policies, curriculum, best practices, and safety, plus professional growth opportunities.
  • Connecting with families: We go the extra mile for every family whose children we care for. This includes greeting parents at drop-off, giving tours to new families, and keeping the lines of communication open, honest, and warm to nurture strong relationships so families want to share how amazing their experiences are with us.
  • Keeping the bar high: Making sure our exclusive Balanced Learning® curriculum is implemented in the classrooms and that our health, safety, and state licensing standards are always met and exceeded without compromise.
  • Handling the business side: Working directly with the Owner to keep enrollment strong, manage the budget, and oversee the day-to-day administration.
  • A growth mindset: Someone who's always looking to learn and improve for themselves and for the school. You're coachable and genuinely open to feedback, because you know that's how great leaders (and great schools) get better. You bring new ideas to the table, stay curious about best practices in early childhood education, and see every challenge as a chance to grow rather than a setback to avoid.
What

We Hope You Bring

We’re looking for someone who has been working in childhood education for a minimum of 3-5 years and knows what it takes to lead a team.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Primary Education, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of Director experience in a licensed child care facility.
  • Strong background in state licensing regulations, staffing, enrollment, and budget management.
  • Responsibility for overseeing all preschool operations including human resources, quality assurance, and facility operations.
  • A proven track record in hiring, developing, and retaining staff.
  • A deep love for children and a strong commitment to building positive relationships with families and the community.
  • Reliability with strong character and values; serving as a role model for others in the school and embodying servant leadership.
  • Excellent references.
A Note From Our Leadership

Running a school isn't just about spreadsheets and schedules; it’s about the people. We’re looking for a School Director who genuinely cares about building a great environment for children, leading school operations, supporting our teachers, and being a steady, welcoming presence for our parents.

If you’ve worked in a preschool setting or early childhood education, you know no two days are the same. You might be helping a teacher solve a classroom challenge at 8:00 AM, walking a prospective family through the building at 10:30 AM, and celebrating a huge developmental milestone with a toddler by lunchtime. We want someone who thrives in that energy and takes real pride in running an excellent school.

You’ll also be part of a collaborative leadership team that truly values your voice and actively supports your professional growth.
