The Multi-Product Power & Digital (MPD) department designs FPGAs, circuit cards, and electronics subassemblies for a range of products including missiles/effectors, radars, and electronic warfare systems. The team leverages digital, analog, and power design skills to provide support throughout the product lifecycle from architecture and design through production and sustainment.
We are currently seeking a Principal Electrical Engineer, with strong technical leadership ability, to function as the Radar Array Lead for a fixed-site radar system. The Radar Array Lead will join the Multi-Function Radio Frequency System (MFRFS) Engineering team in McKinney, TX and have product responsibility for the fixed-site radar AESA.
This position is an onsite role, located in McKinney, TX.
What You Will Do- Interface between the program engineering and program management to the Array design authority
- Communicate with the Array chief engineer (CE) on technical issues and assist with prioritization of technical issues and coordinating status with the Array CE to the radar system CE
- Assist the Array CE with array build, design, and troubleshooting as needed
- Help drive any requirement or design updates from the program perspective to the Array design team
- Work with the Array factory build team to understand the build process and to assist in the optimization of the array build through the factory
- Occasional travel opportunities may be required to support our customers at various sites.
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience
- Technical leadership experience, including the ability to lead the resolution of tough technical challenges
- Electrical hardware design and development experience including design standard adherence
- Experience with production of a new and/or significantly evolved active antenna array assemblies
- One or more advanced degrees in Electrical Engineering or a related STEM major
- Specific experience with the design, development, and production of complex military electronics subsystems
- Broad-based technical background with the ability to lead complex technical projects
- Ability to maintain high performance in a highly dynamic, team-based environment
- Ability to assimilate inputs from multiple sources and derive design and operational requirements
- Developing associated architecture, implementing design, performing analysis and testing of modules and/or sub-systems in a laboratory setting
- Digital, analog and/or RF testing; debugging complex circuit card assemblies or electro-mechanical systems
- Understanding of CCA design and manufacturing
- Subcontract Management
- Collaborating with Global Supply Chain and Mission Assurance to identify and resolve supplier quality, lead time, and manufacturability issues
- Proposal writing including cost estimation
- Earned Value Management System (EVMS) / Control Account Manager Certified
- Developing and maintaining complex integrated master schedules
