Job SummaryWe have an exciting opportunity for Material Engineer II to join our Material and Process (M&P) team supporting varieties of product lines in McKinney, Texas. The engineer will be responsible for material tests and analyses, material shelf life and in-process verification, production hardware empirical testing and proprietary chemical mixing. This individual will work with a cross functional team including manufacture engineers, quality engineers, supply chains, operation value stream, and program authority to resolve pressing producibility issues.

The Material and Process Engineering team within McKinney, TX drives business success by providing engineering expertise to solve today’s problems in multiple domains. The material engineering discipline serves as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) to the material characteristic in terms of hardware compatibility, operation endurance, manufacture environment adaptability.
Work EnvironmentAs a Material Engineer II, you are expected to work in a lab that is constantly exposed to hazardous chemicals including strong acid and base, and proper safety protocols must be followed while the tasks are performed.
What You Will Do- Test a wide array of materials for compliance with drawings, specifications, and program applications.
- Work in a “wet lab,” observing all safety procedures and common lab protocols.
- Write scientific reports using generated data to support technical dispositions.
- Be a part of rapid response team that address factory manufacture process interruption.
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 (two) years of prior relevant experience in assembly / manufacturing.
- Experience with mechanical assembly and/or technical datasheets.
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access required information.
- Advanced Degree in STEM.
- Strong technical writing skills.
- Experience with Design of Experiment (DOE) troubleshooting skills.
- Experience with mechanical test methods (e.g. tensile, compression, lap shear, hardness, lap shear, viscosity) and/or chemical analysis methods (FT-IR spectroscope, cure rate of adhesives, DSC, TMA, SEM, etc.).
- Demonstrated multi-discipline collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrated problem solving skills with data-driven approaches.
- Demonstrated multi-tasking capabilities.
- Familiar with laboratory equipment.
The salary range for this role is 68,900 USD - 131,100 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
