RLC Controls, Inc. is seeking an ACAD Drafter / Control Panel Designer for a full-time, on-site position based in McKinney, TX. The role involves creating and managing AutoCAD drafts for control panel designs, developing detailed schematics, and ensuring design accuracy based on project specifications. Responsibilities include collaborating with engineers and technical staff, assisting in troubleshooting design-related issues, and maintaining up-to-date documentation and design files for each project.
Additional tasks include conducting quality checks, adhering to industry standards, and supporting the assembly and testing teams to ensure seamless project execution.
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD drafting and electrical design documentation
- Experience developing and interpreting electrical schematics and control drawings
- Working knowledge of industrial control systems, including SCADA and PLC platforms
- Understanding of electrical distribution, control panel layouts, and instrumentation systems
- High attention to detail with a focus on accuracy, consistency, and quality assurance
- Ability to work collaboratively with engineering, project management, fabrication, and field teams
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple active projects
- Effective problem-solving skills and commitment to industry standards and best practices
- Associate or bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, drafting & design, or related technical field preferred
- Previous experience in industrial automation, systems integration, or municipal water/wastewater projects is highly desirable
