Product Development Engineer (PDE) – Onsite, McKinney, TX

The Critical Item Production Readiness (CPR) department seeks a Product Development Engineer (PDE) to optimize electronic hardware designs for producibility, focusing on printed circuit board (PCB) and circuit card assembly (CCA) product life cycles.

Required U.S. security clearance (Secret) and U.S. citizenship. Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance before start date.

What You Will Do
  • Host and facilitate design reviews with a multi‑disciplined team to bring PCB and CCA designs from inception to manufacturing.
  • Support suppliers – travel onsite, communicate between stakeholders and suppliers, review defect data, and help establish circuit card assembly testing.
  • Mentor teammates on IPC specifications and circuit card assembly manufacturing best practices.
  • Drive design, procurement and build schedules to meet program dates.
  • Generate drawing notes and review Technical Data Packages (TDP) for IPC compliance.
  • Perform design for manufacturability analyses.
  • Develop and manage BOMs for optimal CCA manufacturing and rework.
Qualifications You Must Have
  • Bachelor’s in STEM and minimum 8 years of relevant experience in PCB manufacturing, circuit card assembly, or related areas.
  • Experience with IPC and MIL specifications and design guides.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain U.S. security clearance; U.S. citizenship required.
Qualifications We Prefer
  • Detailed CCA process knowledge and ability to influence component placement, selection, and material selection to improve manufacturability.
  • Capable of aligning multidisciplinary teams to achieve program objectives.
  • Experience with project coordination and task management, ensuring timely engagement of related functions.

  • Salary range: 107,500 USD – 204,500 USD.
