Power & Analog Design Engineer II

The MPD department is seeking a Power & Analog Design Engineer II to join our team. This position is an onsite role located in McKinney, TX.

What you will do
  • Assist with architecture development at the circuit card level.
  • Design, analyze, test, and document analog and power conversion circuitry.
  • Partner with senior engineers and ECAD drafters through stack up definition, layout, and routing activities.
  • Support integration and verification activities in engineering laboratories.
  • Provide product test and troubleshooting support.
  • Understand and report execution status to the planned budget and schedule.
  • Engage in professional growth and development.
Qualifications You Must Have
  • Engineering/Other Technical Positions:
    Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and at least 2 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Design, analysis, simulation, and/or test experience with non-isolated converter topologies such as buck, boost, or buck-boost.
  • Design, analysis, simulation, and/or test experience with analog electronics design, including FETs/BJTs, op-amps, high/low/band pass filters, clock/data termination, and comparator circuits.
  • Experience using MATLAB, MathCAD, Mathematica, or similar tools.
Qualifications We Value
  • One or more advanced degrees in Electrical Engineering or a related STEM major, which may be counted as 2 years of work experience.
  • Design considerations for voltages > 400V and/or power > 10kW.
  • Experience with three-phase power systems, power factor control, and inverter/rectifier development.
  • Knowledge of military specifications.
  • Experience with circuit simulator SIMPLIS and/or system simulator SABER.
  • Experience with Siemens Xpedition: xDX Designer, xPCB Layout, and/or Hyperlynx.
  • Experience guiding ECAD personnel through PWB layout of power circuitry and technical drawing creation.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.
  • Proficiency with lab equipment such as power supplies, electronic loads, multimeters, signal sources, oscilloscopes, and spectrum analyzers.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead design efforts and/or small teams.
