Principal Program Industrial Engineer IV

Raytheon, the defense contractor, is seeking a Principal Program Industrial Engineer to support program development and production phases primarily within the Surveillance portfolio of factories in McKinney, TX. The role focuses on maximizing throughput, improving efficiency, and delivering increasing value to the customer.

• Provide industrial engineering support to programs across Raytheon factories and key suppliers (travel not to exceed 30% of a standard work schedule).
• Create factory models using process flows, value stream maps, pareto charts, spaghetti diagrams, and CAD drawings to graphically show manufacturing processes and key metrics.
• Analyze manufacturing system performance to identify undesirable effects and opportunities for improvement.
• Apply Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles to calculate capacity, eliminate constraints, improve efficiency, and meet or exceed cost, quality, and on‑time delivery goals.
• Contribute to strategic roadmaps focused on factory capacity, manufacturing technology insertion, infrastructure improvements, obsolescence mitigation, and integration of new capabilities.
• Support program contract proposals, business case development for future investments, supplier assessments, and Make/Buy/Where analyses.
• Partner with project managers and factory support functions to improve factory footprint and layout of equipment.

• Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) or equivalent MS degree with required years of experience.
• Minimum 8 years of prior relevant experience (or 6 years with a suitable MS degree).
• Experience in factory layout and work cell design/optimization.
• Experience in simulation modeling and capacity analysis tools/methods.
• Experience in project management.
• Experience in CAD software.
• Six Sigma certifications.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Capabilities to lead teams and influence without authority.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued Secret security clearance.

Salary range: $107,500 – $204,500 USD.
