Position Overview
Principal Electrical Engineer – Radar Array Lead – onsite role in McKinney, TX.The role functions as the lead for the Radar Array of a ground‑based, mobile radar system within the Multi‑Product Power & Digital department. Responsibilities include technical leadership, design oversight, and liaison between engineering and program management. A DoD Secret clearance is required. Relocation assistance may be available for eligible candidates.
Responsibilities- Serve as the interface between program engineering, program management, and the Array Design Authority.
- Communicate with the Array Chief Engineer on technical issues, assist prioritization of technical issues, and coordinate status updates to the radar System Chief Engineer.
- Assist the Array Chief Engineer with array build, design, and troubleshooting as needed.
- Drive requirement and design updates from the program perspective to the Array design team.
- Work with the Array factory build team to understand the build process and optimize the array build through the factory.
- Occasionally travel to support customers at various sites.
- STEM degree with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience.
- Technical leadership experience, including resolution of tough technical challenges.
- Electrical hardware design and development experience with adherence to design standards.
- Experience producing new or significantly evolved active antenna array assemblies.
- Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering or a related STEM field is preferred.
- Broad technical background with the ability to lead complex technical projects.
- Ability to maintain high performance in a dynamic, team‑based environment.
- Capability to assimilate inputs from multiple sources and derive design and operational requirements.
- Experience developing architectures, implementing designs, performing analysis, and testing subsystems in a laboratory setting.
- Proficiency in digital, analog, and RF testing and debugging of complex circuit card assemblies or electro‑mechanical systems.
- Understanding of CCA design and manufacturing.
- Experience with subcontract management and collaboration with global supply chain and mission assurance to resolve supplier quality, lead time, and manufacturability issues.
- Proposal writing, including cost estimation, and management of EVMS/Control Account Manager tasks.
- Developing and maintaining complex integrated master schedules.
- Competitive salary range: $107,500 – $204,500 USD.
