Position Overview
Material Processing Manufacturing Engineer – Focus on assembly methods, materials, and processes for microwave and mmWave products with emphasis on automation and materials.
Responsibilities- Support current low‑volume high‑mix production with on‑site responsiveness to factory equipment, process, materials, and product problems.
- Develop and implement well‑controlled processes using data‑driven methods such as Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Design of Experiments (DOE) and write shop process documentation.
- Develop and execute new product builds typically with automated equipment, requiring creative solutions for next‑generation product designs.
- Ensure processes meet product quality requirements (J‑STD‑001, MIL‑STD‑883, MIL‑PRF‑38534, IPC, etc.).
- Lead process improvement projects to improve factory productivity through new technologies, qualified materials, and equipment integration.
- Coordinate material, equipment, and process evaluation (qualification, acceptance testing, specification development) and interface with internal and external suppliers to resolve technical issues.
- Maintain effective cross‑functional communication of technical information.
- Degree in a STEM field and a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
- Experience in plasma etch processes and equipment.
- Manufacturing experience with SMT, microelectronics, and automated assembly equipment.
- Proficiency in Statistical Process Control (SPC), data analysis, and Design of Experiments (DOE).
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government‑issued security clearance.
- U.S. citizenship required.
- Familiarity with J‑STD‑001, MIL‑STD‑883, MIL‑PRF‑38534, and IPC standards.
- Experience with technical writing for operator instructions, process and/or material qualification reports, and equipment vendor statements of work.
- Experience working with a multi‑disciplinary engineering team to resolve technical issues.
- Experience with material properties or automated equipment.
- Proficiency with Office 365 programs.
- Salary range: $68,900 – $131,100 USD (good faith estimate).
