Manufacturing Engineer
Advanced Products Center (APC) Manufacturing Engineering organization is seeking a senior laser process engineer to support manufacturing operations and drive advancements in thin film processes.
Security Clearance:
DoD Secret clearance is required. U.S. citizenship required.
- Provide engineering and production support for multiple thin film processes.
- Perform Photo Mask layout using AutoCAD.
- Program laser and probe equipment.
- Set‑up and program recipes for metrology tools and measurement systems.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to support manufacturing operations and process development from a materials perspective, including failure analysis and materials qualifications.
- Support process improvement activities utilizing SPC techniques and experimental designs.
- Support materials, equipment, and manufacturing processes, including qualification, acceptance testing, and specification development.
- Support process and design improvements through Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA), lessons learned, and defect analysis.
- Provide equipment and process training to manufacturing operators.
- Support production with on‑site responsiveness to factory equipment, process, materials, and product problems.
- Develop and implement well‑controlled processes using data‑driven methods such as SPC and DOE and write shop process documentation.
- Execute new product builds typically with automated equipment, often requiring creative solutions for next‑generation product designs.
- Lead process improvement projects to improve factory productivity through new technologies, materials qualification, and capital equipment down‑selection.
- Communicate technical information effectively across functions.
- Bachelor’s degree in STEM field and minimum 8 years of relevant experience.
- Direct experience in thin film processes:
Laser Drilling, Flying Prober, Nikon Measurement Systems, Dicing Equipment. - Experience with AutoCAD or other design software.
- Experience working in multi‑disciplined engineering teams, resolving technical issues and root‑cause investigations.
- Preferred:
Experience with ESI YAG laser, EDI CO2 laser, Hioki Flying Prober, Nikon NEXIV measurement system, ADT dicing equipment. - Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Design of Experiments (DOE) experience.
- Technical writing experience for operator instructions, process and material qualification reports, vendor statements of work.
- Experience with material properties or automated equipment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Project, Word, PowerPoint).
Relocation assistance is not available.
Salary range: $107,500 USD – $204,500 USD.
