Role Overview

Design Integrity Checker – Mechanical / Electrical

Location:

McKinney, TX (onsite) Security Clearance:
Requires an active DoD Secret clearance (interim clearance may be obtained prior to start) and U.S. citizenship.

Responsibilities Mechanical Design Checker
  • Perform design verification and validation of traditional Mechanical 2D drawings and Model-Based Design TDPs.
  • Ensure mechanical design documentation and models cover complex and simple machined parts, castings, and other fabricated items.
  • Verify that mechanical drawings and associated electronic data files used for production or procurement have comprehensive verification for producibility, data integrity, quality, and consistency.
  • Confirm designs meet program requirements while conforming to company and industry specifications and standards.
  • Authenticate the synchronization of drawings with the design database models from which they were derived.
  • Ensure all verification and validation follows ASME Y14.41 and MIL-STD-31000 standards.
Electrical Design Checker
  • Provide systematic design verification and validation of traditional Electrical 2D TDPs.
  • Review electrical TDPs covering circuit card assemblies, flexible circuit assemblies, printed wiring boards, schematic drawings, eBOMs, and CAD design models.
  • Utilize tools such as EXPEDITION-DxDESIGNER, BLUEPRINT, VALOR, and EXCEL for electrical change comparison.
  • Apply electrical Model-Based Engineering concepts and eBOM expertise.
  • Support reviews of software documents per program requirements.
  • Confirm synchronization of drawings with design database models.
  • Ensure design verification and validation complies with ASME Y14.41 and MIL-STD-31000 standards.
  • With training, may also verify the opposing design TDP.
Qualifications You Must Have
  • Bachelor’s degree in STEM (or advanced degree) with 5+ years of relevant experience, or 3+ years with advanced degree, or 9 years without a degree.
  • 5+ years designing, drafting, and/or verifying/validating detailed Technical Data Packages (TDPs).
  • Experience with Computer-Aided Design (CAD) drafting.
  • Specialization in one of the following:
    • Mechanical Design Checker:
      Proficiency in PTC Creo Suite, Creo/ProE, Solid Works, AutoCAD, Raster, Canvas, GTXImage, and/or Myriad.
    • Electrical Design Checker:
      Experience with Mentor Graphics Board station, EXPEDITION-DxDESIGNER, or related electrical software packages.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Industry Model-Based Engineering (MBE), 3D PDF representation, and ASME/Military/Industry Standards.
  • Understanding of Configuration & Data Management and advanced TDP record set management in PDM.
  • Ability to collaborate across engineering disciplines and negotiate solutions aligned with program needs.
  • Electrical CAD experience:
    Mentor Graphics DXDesigner, Valor, Down Stream Technologies Blue Print-PCB, and other change comparison software.
  • Mechanical CAD experience:
    Creo, ProE, and other mechanical drafting tools.
  • Problem-solving, process development, and continuous improvement capabilities.
