Position Role Type:

U.S. Citizenship and Security Clearance: U.S. citizenship is required and the candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. government‑issued security clearance. A DoD Secret clearance is required, and an active and existing clearance must be in place after day 1.

The Raytheon mission is centered on defending freedoms and deterring aggression through advanced engineering solutions. The role supports the Surveillance portfolio of factories in McKinney, Texas, focusing on maximizing throughput, improving efficiency, and delivering increasing value to the customer.

What You Will Do
  • Model factory operations by generating process flows, value stream maps, pareto charts, spaghetti diagrams, and CAD drawings to graphically illustrate production processes, material movements, information exchanges, and key performance indicators.
  • Calculate resource utilization and identify throughput constraints.
  • Apply Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing principles to reduce undesirable effects, improve efficiency, and meet or exceed cost, quality, and on‑time delivery goals.
  • Influence factory roadmaps and investment strategies by drafting infrastructure improvement and expansion proposals, and planning the integration of new products, technologies, and equipment that create a competitive advantage.
  • Work with cross‑functional teams to execute projects that address obsolescence, improve factory performance, and promote growth.
  • Support new production contract/new product proposals and new product integration efforts.
  • Improve factory safety and work cell ergonomics.

Qualifications You Must Have
  • Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience, unless prohibited by local laws or regulations. An applicable Master's degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience is also acceptable.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a similar engineering discipline.
  • Experience applying industrial engineering tools and methodologies such as Lean Manufacturing, Capacity Modeling, Facility Design, or Process Optimization.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Experience and education in factory layout and work cell design/optimization.
  • Experience and education in simulation modeling and capacity analysis tools/methods.
  • Experience and education in project management.
  • Experience and education in CAD software.
  • Six Sigma certifications.
  • Leadership experience and ability to influence without authority.
