Senior Parts Manager – Program Obsolescence Lead (Onsite, Plano and McKinney, TX). The role requires a U.S. citizen with an active Secret clearance, or the ability to obtain a DoD Top Secret clearance within 12 months. The individual will execute strategic program Parts, Materials & Process Management Plans, ensuring corporate and customer requirements are met and obsolescence issues are proactively managed.

• Daily interface with Designers, Supply Chain, Program Management, and other IPT disciplines to collaboratively identify and resolve component obsolescence and shortage issues.
• Understand program requirements, statements of work (SOWs) and the program component application requirements to author proposal inputs as a Basis of Estimate (BOE).
• Collect, compile, distribute and interpret the Program Bill of Materials (BOMs) to assess lifecycle maturity and accuracy; create periodic reports, summaries, and presentations to leadership and customers.
• Efficiently data‑mine, filter, sort, and pivot large data spreadsheets (Microsoft Excel) to isolate and status component lifecycle data.
• Provide technical support to procurement and engineering for potential component alternatives/resolution recommendations, including review of complex technical drawings and specifications.
• Track and report status of technical issues related to drawing and specification changes; assess business impact of alternate part substitutions to support the manufacturing build cycle.
• Occasional travel to supplier or customer sites may be required.

• Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience with any combination of the following:
  • Product development life cycles in electronics manufacturing, including parts, suppliers, and parts obsolescence.
  • Interpretation of technical data packages (TDP), technical and schedule risks, creation of professional data reports, and understanding of cost reduction concepts.
  • Eligibility to apply for a DoD Top Secret Security Clearance within 12 months of acceptance.
  • At least one year’s experience in:
    • Selecting and identifying electronic and/or mechanical component sources.
    • BOM structure and management for manufacturing development and production programs.
    • Basic component failure modes.
    • Locating MIL specs and MIL Standards.

• Four or more years of professional experience in engineering, production support, or related product development disciplines in the Defense or Aerospace industry.
• Demonstrated ability to work in an Integrated Product Team (IPT) environment and coordinate multiple concurrent projects.
• Experience with counterfeit part mitigation when working with non-franchise distributors.
• Existing DoD Top Secret Security Clearance.

• Competitive salary range: USD 86,800 – 165,200.
