Position

Electrical Engineering Manager – Subsystem Integration and Test (Onsite, McKinney, TX)

Location

McKinney, Texas – 2501 W University Dr., Wing M BLDG, 513WM

Security Clearance

U.S. citizenship required. Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance is required.

Responsibilities
  • Lead a section of 15–20 engineers, providing functional leadership and career guidance.
  • Drive results with a strong work ethic; apply active listening, empathy, and conflict‑resolution skills.
  • Design, analyze, test, and document digital electronics circuit card assemblies—including embedded processors, FPGAs, memories, and interfaces such as PCIe, Ethernet, I2C, SPI, and UART.
  • Partner with ECAD drafters for stack‑up definition, simulation, layout, and routing.
  • Plan and execute integration and verification activities in engineering laboratories.
  • Provide product test, troubleshoot support, and root‑cause failure investigations.
  • Drive execution against planned budget and schedule; identify and manage project risks and opportunities.
  • Lead medium‑sized teams to success; coach, review, and delegate work to junior engineers.
  • Serve as subject‑matter expert and lead internal and external technical reviews.
  • Support customer interactions, relations, and factory build/testing of sub‑assemblies.
  • Assist sustainment team and SMEs with evaluation of repaired subsystems for return to field.
  • Interface between program engineering and program management; coordinate technical issue status with program leadership.
  • Support hiring activities (resume reviews, interviews) and annual compensation planning.
  • Collect and compile performance feedback; conduct required Performance Discussions.
  • Ensure labor charging accuracy compliance.
  • Work closely with other section managers, the department manager, and senior staff engineers to meet organizational goals.
Qualifications – Must Have
  • Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM).
  • Minimum 8 years of relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience.
  • Experience with CCA design and test.
  • Product test and troubleshoot experience in manufacturing execution systems.
  • Hardware and software test equipment development.
  • Project management using earned‑value or Agile frameworks.
Qualifications – Preferred
  • Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering or related STEM field.
  • Experience as Hardware Architect, Control Account Manager (CAM), or Integrated Product Team Lead (IPTL).
  • Professional design documentation and presentation skills to leadership and customers.
  • Workforce planning and staffing forecast experience.
  • Process improvement advocacy.
  • Management of technical and schedule risks with cost‑reduction opportunities.
  • Experience with Earned Value Management Systems.
  • Technical proposal, project estimate, and white‑paper development.
  • Design at circuit‑card stack level with thermal, structural, mechanical, and quality considerations.
  • Embedded test techniques, design for test, design for manufacturing, and design margin analysis.
  • Formal design process experience for circuit‑card assemblies.
  • Expertise in high‑speed protocols: PCIe, Ethernet, high‑speed memory interfaces.
  • Experience with Siemens Xpedition tools (xDX Designer, xPCB Layout, Hyperlynx).
  • Multi‑lamination (16–32 layer) circuit‑card assembly experience.
  • FPGA code development or software experience.
  • System‑level power architecture trade experience.
  • Documentation of technical topics and customer presentations.
  • Mentorship of junior engineers.
Salary and Benefits
  • Salary Range: $107,500 – $204,500 USD (representative of all experience levels).
  • Relocation assistance available based on eligibility.
