Manufacturing Engineer
Dynacraft is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support the design, development, implementation, and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes, tooling, equipment, and facility layouts. This role is responsible for evaluating product designs for manufacturability, supporting new product introductions, developing production processes, and driving operational excellence through Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies. The Manufacturing Engineer collaborates closely with customers, suppliers, production teams, quality, and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure manufacturing processes are safe, efficient, cost-effective, and capable of meeting customer and business requirements.
This position requires strong technical knowledge, project management capability, analytical problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage multiple engineering projects simultaneously.
Job Responsibilities:
- Review engineering designs for manufacturability and recommend design improvements.
- Develop and implement manufacturing processes for new and existing products.
- Support new product launches, including production planning, material staging, and packaging requirements.
- Develop labor standards and manufacturing methods.
- Troubleshoot manufacturing equipment and processes to improve safety, quality, and efficiency.
- Design, procure, and implement production tooling, fixtures, and equipment.
- Prepare engineering drawings, specifications, and supplier bid evaluations.
- Develop and optimize work cell layouts and production flow.
- Recommend and implement safety and ergonomic improvements.
- Create and maintain 3D models, engineering drawings, Bills of Material (BOMs), testing plans, and cost estimates using Creo Parametric or similar CAD software.
- Collaborate with customers and suppliers on product development and manufacturing requirements.
- Support product validation, testing, and engineering changes.
- Lead and participate in Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and Six Sigma initiatives.
- Identify and implement productivity, quality, cost, and waste reduction improvements.
- Support ISO 9001, APQP, and other quality system requirements.
- Manage multiple engineering projects while meeting quality, budget, and schedule objectives.
- Coordinate cross-functional activities to ensure successful project execution.
- Provide technical support to production, quality, purchasing, and operations teams.
Qualifications:
Required Skills:
- Manufacturing process development and optimization
- Tooling, fixture, and work cell design
- CAD modeling and engineering documentation (Creo Parametric preferred)
- Engineering drawing interpretation and BOM management
- Cost estimating and project planning
- Manufacturing equipment troubleshooting
- Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and Six Sigma principles
- Project management and prioritization
- Analytical problem-solving and decision-making
- Technical communication and cross-functional collaboration
- Customer and supplier interaction
- Continuous improvement mindset
- Attention to detail and accountability
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
- Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems
Preferred Knowledge:
- PLC-controlled manufacturing systems
- ISO 9001 quality standards
- APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning)
- Manufacturing operations in an industrial environment
Education:
- Associate's degree in Engineering required.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Manufacturing preferred)
- Six Sigma and/or Project Management training (preferred)
