The Material Processing Manufacturing Engineering Department centers on development and production support assembly methods, materials, and processes for current and next generation microwave and mmWave products, with a very heavy emphasis on cutting‑edge automation and materials. You will work closely with product engineers, quality engineers, reliability engineers, tooling engineers, industrial engineers, and operations leaders on product manufacturing. Team responsibilities include developing and implementing materials and processes, process improvements, and production support using established statistical process control techniques, experimental designs, material analysis, mechanical design analysis, and root cause analysis.

Evaluation of materials, equipment, and processes (including qualification, acceptance testing, and specification development) will be required including interfacing with key internal and external suppliers to resolve technical issues.

• Support current low‑volume high‑mix production with on‑site responsiveness to factory equipment, process, materials, and product problems. Factory production execution support includes developing and implementing well‑controlled processes using data‑driven methods such as Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Design of Experiments (DOE) and writing shop process documentation.
• Develop and execute new product builds typically with automated equipment, often requiring creative solutions for next‑generation product designs.
• Ensure processes developed and executed meet product quality requirements (J‑STD‑001, MIL‑STD‑883, MIL‑PRF‑38534, IPC, etc.).
• Process improvement projects to improve factory productivity through leveraging new technologies, investigating and qualifying new materials, and more.
• Capital equipment down‑selection and integration to meet current and future business needs.
• Effective cross‑functional communication of technical information.

• Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience.
• Experience in plasma etch processes and equipment.
• Manufacturing experience with surface mount technology (SMT) and microelectronics and automated assembly equipment.
• Statistical Process Control (SPC), statistical data analysis experience, Design of Experiments (DOE) techniques.
• U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

• Familiarity with J‑STD‑001, MIL‑STD‑883, MIL‑PRF‑38534, and IPC standards.
• Technical writing experience for operator instructions, process and/or material qualification reports, equipment vendor statement of works, etc.
• Experience working with a multi‑disciplined engineering team in resolving technical issues and investigations.
• Experience with material properties or automated equipment.
• Experience with Office 365 programs.

Salary range: 68,900 USD – 131,100 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to the role, function, and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short‑term and/or long‑term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective‑bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
