Plasma Etch Engineer

Overview

The Material Processing Manufacturing Engineering Department centers on development and production support assembly methods, materials, and processes for current and next generation microwave and mmWave products, with a heavy emphasis on cutting‑edge automation and materials. You will work closely with product engineers, quality engineers, reliability engineers, tooling engineers, industrial engineers, and operations leaders on product manufacturing. Team responsibilities include developing and implementing materials and processes, process improvements, and production support using established statistical process control techniques, experimental designs, material analysis, mechanical design analysis, and root cause analysis.

• Support current low-volume high‑mix production with on‑site responsiveness to factory equipment, process, materials, and product problems.
• Develop and implement well‑controlled processes using data‑driven methods such as Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Design of Experiments (DOE) and write shop process documentation.
• Develop and execute new product builds typically with automated equipment, often requiring creative solutions for next‑generation product designs.
• Ensure processes meet product quality requirements (J‑STD‑001, MIL‑STD‑883, MIL‑PRF‑38534, IPC, etc.).
• Lead process improvement projects to improve factory productivity through new technologies, materials qualification, and other enhancements.
• Participate in capital equipment down‑selection and integration to meet current and future business needs.
• Effectively communicate technical information across cross‑functional teams.

• Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2years of prior relevant experience.
• Experience in plasma etch processes and equipment.
• Manufacturing experience with surface mount technology (SMT) and microelectronics and automated assembly equipment.
• Statistical Process Control (SPC), statistical data analysis, and Design of Experiments (DOE) techniques.
• U.S. citizenship required for security clearance eligibility.

• Familiarity with J‑STD‑001, MIL‑STD‑883, MIL‑PRF‑38534, and IPC standards.
• Technical writing experience for operator instructions, process and/or material qualification reports, and equipment vendor statement of works.
• Experience with a multi‑disciplined engineering team in resolving technical issues.
• Experience with material properties or automated equipment.
• Experience with Office
  365 programs.
