We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Airborne & Ground Optics Department in McKinney, Texas. The responsibilities will include all aspects of the mechanical design process from concept to model/drawing completion for mechanical components required to support product builds working under the general supervision of a team lead. Some assembly of your designs may be required.

You will work closely with Chief Engineers, Lead Engineers and product engineers. We are specifically seeking candidates who are hands‑on, adaptable in a fast‑paced environment, proactive, take ownership of work, communicate well with others, and enjoy solving unique problems every day.

• Utilization of RTX tools including CREO modeling software and Product Data Management (PDM)
• Design and documentation support utilizing engineering tools, Adobe, and MS Office suite
• Execution of engineering change and drawing release process
• Analytical and technical engineering work within a program environment with possible presentations on designs as needed
• Train on Raytheon processes and procedures
• Work may include participation in building hardware in a lab environment

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience or an advanced degree in a related field and minimum 3 years’ experience
• Experience in the design and prototyping of electromechanical systems
• Experience with 3D modeling software (CREO, Solid Works, or equivalent)
• Experience with planning, coordinating, and tracking small mechanical engineering projects involving three or more contributors, ensuring assigned tasks are completed in accordance with established technical requirements, schedules, and project milestones

• Project Team leadership experience
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, including knowledge and understanding of tolerancing
• Experience developing and delivering presentations (verbal and/or written)
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
