Proposal Material Estimator; Hybrid - McKinney, TX

Overview

An excellent opportunity exists within the Advanced (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). Spectrum Dominance (ASD) Proposal team as a Principal Material Estimator. The Operations Supply Chain (OSC) ASD estimating organization is responsible for the preparation of proposals for development, production and competitive contracts, including modifications to existing contracts. This hybrid role requires onsite work in McKinney, TX at least one day a week.

• Develop, analyze, and complete material proposals and create the Material Cost Summary (MCS).
• Work with cross functional teams to understand and evaluate material and other direct costs associated with proposed contracts and the program.
• Utilize company estimating and pricing programs and tools.
• Lead the development of the Material Basis of Estimates, tracking progress, requesting, validating, and analyzing supplier quotes and purchase order history, ensuring consistency across the program and confirming the estimating approach is sound.
• Ensure proposals comply with all FAR and internal requirements, often as the only material point of contact.
• Assess, develop, and implement solutions to produce a thorough material package.
• Perform detailed and complex analysis of inputs to ensure soundness in material estimates.

• University degree or equivalent experience with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
• Knowledge and experience with proposal development, price buildup, and estimating and pricing processes.
• Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel (formulas, macros, lookup, pivot tables, filtering, and sorting).
• U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens may access information under this program/contract.
• Existing Secret U.S. government issued security clearance.

• Experience with federal proposal regulations, including FAR, DFAR, and TINA.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
• Consistent ability to meet deadlines in a schedule driven environment.

Salary range: $86,800 to $165,200 per year.
