Logistics Engineer

The Logistics Engineer reports to the Logistics Supervisor and is responsible for analyzing, developing, improving, and documenting plant material movement and storage processes. This role supports continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, ergonomic improvements, line-side inventory optimization, and overall material movement efficiency. This role is based in McKinney, Texas.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Analyze material flow processes and recommend improvements.
  • Improve departmental efficiency and operational effectiveness.
  • Identify and eliminate roadblocks impacting Receiving and Production.
  • Audit processes to ensure compliance with Standard Work.
  • Maintain and manage the department training matrix.
  • Support initiatives that improve training effectiveness.
  • Conduct process and product audits and document findings.
  • Create and maintain standardized work documentation, including JSS, SWI, OPLs, Kaizen forms, and related process documents.
  • Support Visual Factory and Electronic Work Instruction (EWI) systems.
  • Assist with new process launches, including EV, DV, QV, and VV builds.
  • Recommend improvements to reduce material transportation time and manufacturing costs.
  • Participate in FMEA, PFMEA, and Production Control Plan reviews.
  • Drive process improvements that enhance safety, quality, and productivity.
  • Support corrective actions and track defect performance metrics.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on improvement projects.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain a Plan for Every Part (PFEP).

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in manufacturing, logistics, and/or distribution.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and ability to lead by example.
  • Strong verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, well-organized, flexible, and able to work under pressure.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
  • Experience with SAP, RF systems, and manufacturing operations is preferred.
  • Understanding of root cause analysis and corrective action tools/methods.
  • Hands-on ability and data analysis skills are a plus.

Education:

Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Engineering or Business. Six Sigma training is preferred.
