Production Test Engineer (PTE)

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Production Test Engineer (PTE) to join our team. This is a dynamic and visible role where you will leverage your technical expertise, problem-solving abilities, and collaborative skills to ensure the seamless execution of test processes in factory environment.

Production Test Engineers (PTE) are part of a manufacturing team who support the test process through one or more phases of the product life cycle, including product development, transition to production, sustained production, and depot activities. The PTE validates and ensures compliance of the prime hardware to its technical data package requirements. Supports program schedule and cost goals. Performs troubleshooting, data analysis, Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA), and problem solving of test failures.

Identifies opportunities to improve efficiency, yields, test time, defect reduction, and test capacity. The PTE serves as the primary authority for the Test Equipment (TE) and, ensuring that all actions and modifications to the TE are appropriate and aligned with operational requirements. They are required to understand how the TE and prime hardware being tested function and interact. As a PTE you will be responsible for optimizing the forward and reverse test flow processes, maintaining test-related documentation, and factory instructions.

You will play a key role in ensuring rigorous testing processes and delivering high-quality to our end customers.

What You Will Do:

  • Provide test engineering support of the manufacturing areas. Interact daily with operations, quality, process/mechanical, and production control (PC) regarding most urgent immediate needs in test.
  • Observe, analyze, and report test data, perform tests and utilize various engineering drawings, manuals, and other related documentation
  • Perform a wide variety of technical efforts including process, test, troubleshoot, and repair Digital, Analog and RF equipment
  • Dispositioning non-conforming material using root cause and corrective action analysis and working on corrective action investigations to prevent recurrence
  • Assisting with driving Continuous Improvement, including process improvements to improve cycle time, reduce ergonomic risk to assemblers, automate and reduce costs (both direct and indirect) using Core / Six Sigma principles and data driven decision making

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Minimum 2 years experience related to RF test methods, troubleshooting, RF microwave product testing, engineering and or manufacturing

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.

This role is a U.S.

-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
